Chris Coffman is her mother's daughter. Chris's mother was always into arts and crafts and Chris has followed in her footsteps; from watercolors and oils to stained glass and sewing her own wedding fress with french lace from her mother's dress. Chris started doing raku pottery in college at UNC-A and has done oils, water colors, and pastels at Repennings Studios in Haddon Heights.
Christ started doing beading during her layovers while working as an Amtrak conductor, and from there went to the torch to make focal beads included in the beaded pieces.
Chris is self taught and has been doing lampwork for twelve years. She teaches beginning lampwork following the ISGB criteria set up for safety and knowledge. She has taught at Carlisle School of Glass Art in Millville,NJ, Hot Soup in Philadelphia, Jubilibeads and Yarns in Collingswood, NJ and is currently doing volunteer and docent work, and participating in their “Make Your Own Bead” program at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center in Millville, NJ.
Chris's beads are on display in the Wheaton Glass Museum. She is also an SRA member (Self Representing Arist) and a member of the ISGB (International Society of Glass Bead Makers).
