About the Artist
Jason Gordon is a glass artist based in upstate New York. He began flameworking in 1999 and primarily uses borosilicate glass in his practice. He draws inspiration from traditional Venetian glassmaking techniques using skills he developed in the American glass counter-culture movement of the early 2000’s.
He has heavily focused on working large-scale borosilicate out of a furnace while developing his own set of techniques for patterning designs.
Jason has taught classes around the country for the past 15 years and is passionate about sharing his experience with young glassblowers.
He currently works as an independent artist and volunteers at WheatonArts in the flameworking studio on Saturdays.
