Introduction to Glassblowing
April 26, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm EDT
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until May 24, 2023
We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glass blowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. No previous classes are required for this course.

*COVID NOTE: Due to the close physical proximity of students and instructors, students in hot glass and pottery classes will need to show proof of vaccination. Following New Jersey State’s definition, people are considered “fully vaccinated” for COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, and any booster doses for which they are eligible as recommended by the CDC. Instructors and students are also strongly encouraged to wear masks; however, it is not required.
