Introduction to Encaustics

$135.00 – $150.00Sandra brings a hands-on approach to teaching in this introductory-level workshop. This workshop covers a brief history of encaustic, equipment needed, setting up your work-space, mixing colors, adding media and of course safety. Additional techniques will include collage, image transfer, and combining oil with wax. Everything you need to start creating with encaustic. Hands-on work time will enable participants to create up to three panels.

CANCELATION POLICY: Refunds are eligible up to one week before the beginning of the workshop. After this time, workshop fees are non-refundable. WheatonArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment. If cancellation occurs, WheatonArts will refund all workshop fees. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment; otherwise, it will be considered a no-show, except in the case of illness. Are you feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19? COVID NOTE: Due to the close physical proximity of students and instructors, students in hot glass and pottery classes will need to show proof of vaccination. Following New Jersey State’s definition, people are considered “fully vaccinated” for COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, and any booster doses for which they are eligible as recommended by the CDC. Instructors and students are also strongly encouraged to wear masks; however, it is not required.
