Color Technique: Painting and Drawing with Alcohol-Based Inks
December 1, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EST
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Friday, repeating until December 1, 2023
This comprehensive course is designed to provide guidance in the art of painting and drawing using alcohol-based inks on synthetic paper. Throughout the course, students will master the art of curating a foundational color palette using inks, and explore the intricacies of crafting ink paintings of still life subjects. The instruction and student practice will encompass a spectrum of skills, including the delicate balance of diluted washes and the precision of colored marker drawing.
Guided by an experienced instructor, participants will not only receive hands-on experience but also benefit from insightful demonstrations that cover the breadth of techniques mentioned above. The course goes beyond technique, fostering a deep understanding of fundamental concepts such as color contrast, color value, perspective, and compositional design.
The learning experience is further enriched through a dynamic blend of both group and personalized one-on-one instruction, ensuring that every student’s artistic practice is nurtured and cultivated. By the end of the course, participants will have not only acquired proficiency in alcohol-based ink techniques but also gained a newfound appreciation for the intricate interplay of colors and artistic composition.
