Ceramic Luminaries
July 12 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT
$67.50 – $75.00Discover the art of creating a ceramic candle holder from high-fire clay with Ceramic Artist Phyllis Seidner-Vesely. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through the practical steps of carving and decorating your own luminary. A luminary is a ceramic object that can be used to hold a candle.
Under Phyllis’s experienced direction, learn the techniques to turn a pre-thrown raw clay object into a personalized luminary. Get your hands dirty with carving and adding intricate designs that give your piece a distinct touch. Experiment with the details of embellishment, enhancing the overall look and turning your luminary into a functional work of art.
To finalize your project, choose a glaze that suits your style. Phyllis will take care of applying the glaze and firing your luminary in WheatonArts’ kilns.
