About the Artist

Initially inspired by magnificent work of Lucio Bubacco, Dennis has been flameworking glass since 2012. Unlike a large portion of current generation of lampworkers, Dennis started his torching journey and stayed with soft glass, falling in love with its palette, rich history and possibilities. Taught by famous Muranese glass masters Lucio Bubacco, Giorgio Bruno, Igor Balbi as well as renowned American glass artists Loren Stump, Wesley Fleming and Emilio Santini.

Dennis is inspired by floral forms, nature and feminine beauty. Recent work spawns wearable miniatures using glass implosion technique, murrini making, small torch blown vessels and off-mandrel sculpting. Currently exploring endless possibilities of how different glass working techniques can be combined, such as collaborating with furnace glass blowers and combining kiln-formed elements with flameworked objects.
