Basket Weaving Workshop: Traditional New Jersey Archer Basket

$117.00 – $130.00Join us for a hands-on weaving class and create your own New Jersey-style basket, inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of the Archer family from Archertown, NJ. This unique pic ’n’ basket design is native to New Jersey and reflects the rich history of local basket-making families.
In this class, you’ll start by constructing the base using the 8 over 8 method, then proceed with a continuous weave. You’ll also add a bonnet handle and finish with a traditional rim and lashing technique. The finished basket will be approximately 10 inches in diameter and 8 inches high (excluding the handle).
All levels of weaving experience are welcome. Come and experience a piece of New Jersey history with your own hands!

CANCELATION POLICY: Refunds are eligible up to one week before the beginning of the workshop. After this time, workshop fees are non-refundable. WheatonArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment. If cancellation occurs, WheatonArts will refund all workshop fees. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment; otherwise, it will be considered a no-show, except in the case of illness. Are you feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19?
