When crayons are thrown away, they take many, many years to biodegrade. In the United States, 500,000 pounds of crayons are discarded each year!
Since 1993, the National Crayon Recycling Program has collected over 120,000 pounds of well-used crayons. At the Crazy Crayon Workshop they are melted, strained, sterilized and hand poured to create new crayons – these crayons!

Purchasing Recycle Sticks supports the National Crayon Recycling Program, and you can bring your old crayons to the General Store at WheatonArts, where we are excited to collect them for recycling!
