Take the next step with your encaustic painting skills. In this workshop, Anna will help you build on your current skills and will introduce a new technique, encaustic “monotype collagraphy.”
In the Monotype Collagraphy, an anodized aluminum plate serves as the canvas as you paint pigmented wax onto the plate. You will create an image using encaustic techniques, brushes, and tools to create a truly unique painting. The image of the encaustic work is then pressed onto absorbent paper, thereby creating a one-of-a-kind monotype!
Mono is a Latin word, which means ONE and type means kind. And, Monotypes are appreciated for their unique textural qualities.
All materials are provided in the class and included in your class fee.
