The thread for pin laces is usually cotton, but in some new works a synthetic thread is also utilized. It is knitted by passing threads from the two sides of the pin and tying them in the middle with a small crochet hook. The participants in the class will learn how these laces are shaped according to the width of the hairpin. They will also explore some patterns that are created with passing caterpillars, beads or spangles (sequins) on the sides They will also learn how to prepare by chaining the parts of the lace that will be later sewn in the finished piec
