In this workshop, learn how to create three different designs of paper lanterns and learn about their use and meanings in Chinese traditional culture. Whether the lanterns are associated with celebrations of the Chinese New Year or the Lantern Festival, they always symbolize the transition from old to new, from past to future, and from dark to light. Their shapes and colors represent peoples’ wishes for a bright future, happiness, and prosperity.
