SUMMARY:Introduction to Glassblowing
DESCRIPTION:We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glass blowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass\, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools\, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms\, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. No previous classes are required for this course. \nNovember 23-December 21\, Wednesdays\, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. \nFriday Student Open Blow: November 25 – December 23\, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. \nClass Duration: 5 sessions\, 15 hours total \nLocation: Glass Studio \nAges: 16 & above \nClass Limit: 4 to 10 people \nClass Fee: $375 \nInstructor: Kayla Cantu \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing: November 9 \n  \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first reserve basis. A $25.00 fee will be charged to those who do not show up for their appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment; otherwise\, it will be considered a no-show\, except in the case of illness. Are you feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19? Vaccines must be currently authorized for emergency use or approved by the FDA or the WHO. Class participants will be required to show proof of vaccination to participate.
