SUMMARY:Basket Weaving Workshop: Traditional New Jersey Archer Basket
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on weaving class and create your own New Jersey-style basket\, inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of the Archer family from Archertown\, NJ. This unique pic ’n’ basket design is native to New Jersey and reflects the rich history of local basket-making families. \nIn this class\, you’ll start by constructing the base using the 8 over 8 method\, then proceed with a continuous weave. You’ll also add a bonnet handle and finish with a traditional rim and lashing technique. The finished basket will be approximately 10 inches in diameter and 8 inches high (excluding the handle). \nAll levels of weaving experience are welcome. Come and experience a piece of New Jersey history with your own hands! \nNovember 10\, Sunday \nClass Duration: 1 Session\, 5.5 Hours \nTime:  10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. \nLocation: Event Center Dining Room \nAges: 13 and above \nClass Limit: 4 to 10 \nClass Fee: $130 \nInstructor: Mary May \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing: November 3 \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first-reserve basis. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment.
