SUMMARY:Introduction to Glass Blowing
DESCRIPTION:We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glassblowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass\, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools\, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms\, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. No previous classes are required for this course. \n*Registration includes access to Student Open Blow on Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. during the run time of the class. \nApril 24 to May 29\, Wednesdays\, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. \nFriday Student Open Blow (optional): April 26  to May 31\, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. \nClass Duration: 6 sessions\, 15 hours total \nLocation: Glass Studio \nPet Policy: Visitors are NOT permitted to bring pets onto the WheatonArts campus. Only Service Dogs\, as defined by the ADA\, are welcome on the grounds. \nAges: 16 & above \nClass Limit: 4 to 8 people \nClass Fee: $375 \nInstructor: Sam Sonnenfeld \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing: April 17 \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first-reserve basis. After this time\, workshop fees are non-refundable. WheatonArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment. If cancellation occurs\, WheatonArts will refund all workshop fees. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment.
