SUMMARY:Brown Egg Pysanka Ornament
DESCRIPTION:Explore the art\, symbolism and joy in writing Pysanky – Ukrainian Decorated Eggs. Students will be guided in writing patterns on brown eggshells with wax to create holiday-themed ornaments. Students will learn the age-old method of applying hot beeswax to an emptied chicken egg using a special tool and then dipping the egg in a dye bath. These steps are repeated to create patterns and symbols. When the process is completed\, the wax is melted off over a candle flame\, revealing the hidden colors and designs. (Designs may vary ). This pysanka\, or Ukrainian Easter egg can then be displayed on a stand or hung as an ornament. \nAll materials\, supplies\, and instructions will be provided to complete one egg ornament.  \nThursday Instruction: November 2 \nClass Duration: 3 Hours \nTime:  5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. \nLocation: Education Studio \nAges: 12 and above \nClass Limit: 6 to 10 \nClass Fee: $65 \nInstructor: Basia Andrusko \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing: October 26 \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first-reserve basis. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment.
