SUMMARY:Ink Making 101
DESCRIPTION:This class is for the ink-curious! It assumes no knowledge of ink-making\, and we will start from the very beginning with an easy first project- fruit ink. Using a selection of berries and very larder-friendly items\, you can make your first batch of ink suitable for writing with a metal nib or quill or as a watercolor wash. \nAfter you have bottled your first batch\, it is time for a few fun experiments with mordents and modifiers. This gives you a larger palette to work with and more options for experimentation. We shall finish with a few ideas and examples of other organic materials suitable for ink-making. \nThis is a fun and easy way to start your own ink-making adventure. Absolutely no stress or chemical formulae involved! You may want to wear clothes that you do not mind getting a tiny bit dirty\, and your fingers might get berry juice on them – an artist’s proof that they have been working! Everything you need\, including materials and tools\, is included. \nSunday: May 18 \nClass Duration: 2 hours total\, 1 session \nTime:  11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. \nLocation: Classroom \nAges: 14 and above \nClass Limit: 4 to 20 \nClass Fee: $40 \nInstructor: Cherelle Oriolo \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing:  May 11 \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first-reserve basis. Besides an auto-generated email receipt\, you will receive a confirmation email from the Director of Education and Artist Services\, Pamela Weichmann. If you have any questions\, don’t hesitate to contact us at 856.825.6800 ext. 112 or by emailing pweichmann@wheatonarts.org. \nCANCELATION POLICY: Refunds are eligible up to one week before the beginning of the workshop.
