DESCRIPTION:We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glassblowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass\, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools\, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms\, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. This course will emphasize individual attention and instruction divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This class is ideal for students who have minimal to basic glassblowing skills\, not for true beginners. SUMMARY:Jewelry Design: Off-Loom Bead Weaving (V O Bracelet)
DESCRIPTION:In this one-session class\, students will create a woven bead wristlet using glass beads\, pearls\, and/or semi-precious stones. Off-loom bead weaving is a technique that uses string and a needle to weave beads into a flat fabric\, a tube\, or a three-dimensional object. In this class\, we will create a wristlet using the brick stitch. \nAll necessary materials and tools are provided. A base kit will be provided and is included in the class fee. Opportunities to upgrade your kit\, for an extra charge\, will be available during the class meeting.
