SUMMARY:Introduction to Glassblowing
DESCRIPTION:We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glassblowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass\, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools\, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms\, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. Guided by the expertise of your instructor\, Amy Peseller\, you’ll gain insights into identifying the most suitable foliage for creating impressions. \nWhen you return inside\, to the studio\, you will learn the art of rolling out a perfect clay slab and cutting tiles. Amy will guide you through the process of transforming the collected foliage into a design. In this class\, our skilled instructor will lead you through the process of turning pre-thrown ceramic forms into personalized and unique poultry sculptures. \nBuild your skills in handbuilding techniques as you create whimsical chicken components\, adding character and charm to your creation.
