SUMMARY:Introduction to Glassblowing
DESCRIPTION:We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glassblowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass\, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools\, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms\, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. SUMMARY:Brown Egg Pysanka Ornament
DESCRIPTION:Explore the art\, symbolism and joy in writing Pysanky – Ukrainian Decorated Eggs. Students will be guided in writing patterns on brown eggshells with wax to create holiday-themed ornaments. Students will learn the age-old method of applying hot beeswax to an emptied chicken egg using a special tool and then dipping the egg in a dye bath. These steps are repeated to create patterns and symbols. When the process is completed\, the wax is melted off over a candle flame\, revealing the hidden colors and designs. (Designs may vary ). DESCRIPTION:This comprehensive course is designed to provide guidance in the art of painting and drawing using alcohol-based inks on synthetic paper. Throughout the course\, students will master the art of curating a foundational color palette using inks\, and explore the intricacies of crafting ink paintings of still life subjects. The instruction and student practice will encompass a spectrum of skills\, including the delicate balance of diluted washes and the precision of colored marker drawing. \n  \nGuided by an experienced instructor\, participants will not only receive hands-on experience but also benefit from insightful demonstrations that cover the breadth of techniques mentioned above.
