DESCRIPTION:WheatonArts is open from 11 AM to 4 PM\, Thursday through Sunday. \nA General Admission ticket is needed to visit the Museum of American Glass\, Down Jersey Folklife Center\, and Artist Studios. The grounds\, including the Nature Trail and Museum Stores\, will remain walk-in (non-ticket) accessible for those coming exclusively to shop or stroll. \nPlease arrive no later than 3 PM. \n\nFor free admission year-round\, guest passes\, and special discounts\, consider a WheatonArts Membership. Membership must be purchased in a separate transaction (in a separate cart.)

SUMMARY:Ceramic Birdhouses/Bird Feeders
DESCRIPTION:Create handmade habitats and/or feeders for native birds! In this class you will use the technique of handbuilding to alter a pre-thrown clay bottle form. You will be guided through the various additive and subtractive techniques in order to turn the form into a birdhouse or feeder depending on which one you prefer.  \nFriday Instruction: April 21 \nTime: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. \nClass Duration: 2 Hours \nLocation: Pottery Studio \nAges: 16 & above \nClass Limit: 5 to 10 people \nClass Fee: $75 \nInstructor: Phyllis Seidner-Vesely \nPrerequisite: None \nRegistration Closing: April 16 \nAll registrants for Pottery workshops must be fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 to participate. \n  \n\nSeats are limited and booked on a first-come\, first-reserve basis. Besides an auto-generated email receipt\, you will receive a confirmation email from the Director of Education and Artist Services\, Pamela Weichmann. After this time\, workshop fees are non-refundable. WheatonArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment. If cancellation occurs\, WheatonArts will refund all workshop fees. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment; otherwise\, it will be considered a no-show\, except in the case of illness. Are you feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19? Appointments can be rescheduled by phone or email. \nCOVID NOTE: Due to the close physical proximity of students and instructors\, students in hot glass and pottery classes will need to show proof of vaccination. Following New Jersey State’s definition\, people are considered “fully vaccinated” for COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine\, and any booster doses for which they are eligible as recommended by the CDC. Instructors and students are also strongly encouraged to wear masks; however\, it is not required.
